According to the report, enterprises, notably within the Fortune 100 and global financial sectors, are managing an average of 270 AI models in production. However, an astounding 80 percent of these organizations face challenges in risk management and compliance, which remain significant barriers to AI adoption. With stricter regulations being formulated, particularly by the EU, these barriers highlight the crucial need for effective solutions in AI model management.

Enhancing AI governance processes is cited by 69 percent of participants as the primary motivation for investing in a ModelOps platform. As Stu Bailey, Co-Founder and Chief Enterprise AI Architect at ModelOp, states, it is not enough to create AI models; operationalization—ensuring that models are productive, compliant, and valuable—is essential for advancing AI initiatives at scale.

The report also highlights the fragmented model development process; data scientists employ around 5-7 diverse tools, indicating significant potential for operational streamlining. Only a quarter of respondents rate their model inventory processes as highly effective, underscoring a need for systems like ModelOps.

Moreover, 76 percent recognize the cost-efficiency of ModelOps platforms as vital, with 42 percent acknowledging it as crucial for financial management. Industry experts like Skip McCormick from BNY Mellon affirm that ModelOps represents the next evolution after DevOps, offering a structured approach to monitoring AI models' functionality and success.

In an environment where fiscal planning is critical, 90 percent of surveyed executives anticipate establishing dedicated ModelOps budgets within the next year—a testament to the growing prioritization of streamlined and effective AI operations.
